Kids actually start with some really amazing attributes at lvl 5 already.
I will list a few - begging - stealing from your wallet/purse - phoning social services and lying that you beat them because you refused to buy them another xBox/PS3 as they already have two or three (advanced skill at 5) - demand that not only you take them to some exotic place on holiday but also take all of their friends so they can show off - beat their teachers - disrespect and talk back (advanced skill at 5) - impatience - ****, cry and keep you awake at all hours of the night - demand you throw away all of their clothing and buy the latest in fashion after you bought them an entire new wardrobe the week before - shoot parents because they take toys/games away (advanced skill at 5)
That's only a few skills they have at lvl 5, including their corresponding advanced skills.

Wins the forums for the day
Slade
Only people who don't have children or aren't teachers would think he won the forums. They start with major advantages over adults.

Originally by: Akita T No, he just lives in the USA or another similar country which has a much-too-long tradition of silly "child abuse" laws that give children WAY too much entitlement... and has a relatively busy job so he can't afford to be with his young kids most of the day.
The moment your "disciplining" methods peak at stuff like "you're grounded" (yeah, right, so what) or a very stern talking to (lol?)... you can't possibly expect anything good to come of it. You wouldn't try to TALK to a puppy and explain to him why it's bad he shat on the carpet, now would you ? Even if the puppy COULD understand (well, a puppy can't, but a small child can) what you are saying, he simply does not care yet. The only thing he cares about is immediate, short-term drawbacks (like a couple of slaps to the ass).
Good classroom activity.
While the article took place in the US it is an example.
When I was in uni a teacher was knifed by a student. The teacher then got arrested for assaulting the kid and nothing was done about the kid because the teacher had laid hands on him before being rushed to hospital. How many of my fellow classmates do you think ended up in the classroom? As far as I know none.
Welcome to the UK.
Also I am glad I know the work of Dr. Winston and don't just spout political correct nonsense like the rest of you. Marching to the tunes of the SS (Social Services) while THE expert on behavioural science teaches otherwise doesn't make you look clever. This comment was not aimed at you Akita but at those who think that by echoing the fascist rhetoric of a bunch of half sane people (the SS are notoriously unstable).

Originally by: Xrak Anyone that thinks that children will grow up to be an arrogent, ignorant drain on society if they arent repeatedly physically punished needs to look at countries like Sweden and Norway, where it has been illegal for decades. Hardly countries thought of as being full of yobs.
I knew a family in Sweden. They had a boy of about eight and the little ****er would touch everything, throw things, hit the cat and it would even try to throw the TV on the floor. Parents couldn't do a thing about it and all they would do is ask him not to stop, they wouldn't tell him but ask. They explained that in Sweden kids can phone the police, tell them they're being beaten and parents will end up in prison just because the child says so. I didn't understand what they were talking about until I went to the UK and saw it first hand.
As Jacob said, children are taught by the Gestapo and the SS to lie about their parents. It's entirely encouraged by a society that has no rules, no discipline and no respect. Children are brought up to disrespect, to be violent, to be yobs or whatever and to be the way they are. While the childless posters here cry **** that bad parenting is to blame when they have no idea what they're talking about people are actively fleeing the UK. One lady fled the UK and sought asylum in another European country and was granted it because of the severe violations of (parental) human rights in the UK. While I don't understand why she went to Sweden, as Sweden is just as oppressive, I do understand and support her for fleeing the UK.
Why do the SS do these things? Because there are no reprecussions. They can do whatever they want and there is nothing anyone is going to do about it. SS'er lets an eight year old girl die, is fined 500 Pounds by the court because she wouldn't turn up and then is allowed to continue to work with children.
The ultimate power of the SS.

This.
People always look at me strangely when I try to argue that children are an STD. What else do you call a parasitic growth that results from sex?
HAHAHAHA!

Originally by: Niama And you my friend are on the road to the other extreme according to your parenthood attitudes. take a note and read about "limits" and how to impose them before you become a parent. if you already are, take that as a note of cautiousness
My wife has a degree in Criminal Psychology (profiling) and she asks whenever someone comes out something as intelligent as this "How can you expect children not to criminalise when all they have been taught that the only concequence of their actions is no concequence?"
The moment you have realised why teenage pregnancy is out of control in the UK and US, why youths turn to violence and crime and why parents are fleeing such countries en masse is the moment you realise why spanking or other forms of harsh discipline are necessary. I know people who are living in Israel and would rather run the risk of getting blown up than raise their children in the UK and have them come home pregnant at 10.
